Almost everybody has a sweet tooth and the Gingerbread Spice palette certainly helps with those cravings. Released as a limited-edition during Christmas 2018 it caught the eye of beauty lovers and Too Faced aficionados including myself.
Gingerbread Spice has 18 warm toned shades, a mix of mattes, shimmers and pearls that can be combined to make a variety of makeup looks. The classic browns and nudes are reminiscent of baked cookies but arenβt bland like normal nude palettes. The browns are incredibly pigmented on the lid and are easy to blend out. Gingerbread Spice also includes a few bright colours the same shades of lollies and icing. Gumdrop is one, a bright fuchsia pink, while Frostbite Me! is an icy white that adds a nice pale contrasting shimmer in the palette.
Sadly, the formula for both of these shades feels chalky on the skin and the payoff is not as brilliant as I had hoped. There is also some fallout on the face and in the pan for each shade.
The softer shades in the palette have less pigmentation, are incredibly pale and must be built up for an intense look. The darker shades are the highlight of this palette: they are so beautiful and pigmented on the eyes, making your makeup pop.

The mix of colours is sweet and addictive with a hint of spice to change up your makeup look. The darker shades are better for a more intense look to wear at night while the lighter ones are beautiful for a very subtle day look. Add a nude lip for something subtle or bright red for a splash of attitude.
The metal packaging is sweet and offers some protection to the palette so it doesn’t get bent or destroyed while the gold on the inside makes the palette look luxurious without being tacky.
Overall, the formula of some of the shades was disappointing but I’m addicted to the darker tones in the palette, reaching for it almost every day.
Love, Erin xx
